Freeclimbing was invented in Saxony. Who knew? 150m years ago in Saxon Switzerland the first group of people decided to start freeclimbing “Freiklettern”. When some Saxons emigrated to the US in the 1930s, they took their favorite hobby and technique with them an freeclimbing has been popular ever since.
