Friendship Concert in Honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day

On Wednesday, January 25, the Consulate General of Germany, together with the Consulates of Israel and Poland, commemorated International Holocaust Remembrance Day with a special friendship concert at the American Jewish University in Los Angeles.

The free concert was hosted by the Whizin Center and the Sigi Ziering Institute in partnership with the three Consulates ahead of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27, the day in 1945 when Auschwitz, the infamous Nazi death camp, was liberated by the Soviet army. The United Nations designated it in 2005 as an international day day in memory of the victims of the Holocaust and to foster educational programs to help prevent future acts of genocide.

An audience of over 300 people were treated to a lively concert in different formations by Esti Rofe, Flute, from Israel, Krzysztof Kaczka, Flute, from Poland and Perry Schack, Guitar, from Germany.
