“In the Fade” with Diane Kruger Made the Cut!

Germany's official entry is one of the 5 Golden Globes Nominees for Best Foreign Language Movie

The German Consulate General Of Los Angeles supports the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and American Cinematheque celebrating the best in World Cinema with the annual Golden Globe Foreign-Language Nominees Screening Series and Panel Discussion at the Egyptian and Aero Theatres, January 1 – 6, 2018.

One of the nominees this year is Fatih Akin’s German Movie “In the Fade,” whose powerful protagonist Diane Kruger won the Best Actress award at Cannes. The film revolves around the tragedy of a woman who lost her husband and child to a Neo-Nazi terrorist attack and her fight to bring justice. Diane Kruger is also the GW cover girl for our upcoming Winter edition.

As part of the five-day screening series, “In the Fade” will screen at the Aero theater on Jan 4, 2018 at 7:30pm. On Jan 6th, Fatih Akin will participate in the panel discussion with the directors of nominated films.

This annual discussion, a highly valued tradition at the Cinematheque, is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the filmmakers about their creative process and the cultural contexts that influence their works.

The discussion is a free event with RSVP, so anyone who loves world cinema is welcome!
