CA: Virtual Reality GABA Event at SONY in Culver City

virtual_realityOn February 16th, the Southern Californian chapter of GABA is treating members and guests to an exciting event, Virtual Reality: The New ‘New Media.’ Guests are invited to a behind-the-scenes look at the collaboration between content creators at SONY Pictures Entertainment and the research organization at USC Institute for Creative Technologies bringing about the technical as well as storytelling advances that drive the Virtual Reality revolution as the new “new media.”

Virtual Reality is not an added feature to the current form of story telling, like 3D or even 4D. It creates an alternate world and places you inside it, a world where you can do amazing things which may prove to be too costly, risky or even fatal in the real world. The innovations that are driving the integration of this media into the mainstream cross many disciplines, not least of which is the discipline of story-telling.

SONY will open the doors of the newly constructed/opened Morita building situated on the historic Motion Picture lot in Culver City for our special access and peak behind the curtain of one of hollywoods newest ventures.

Date and time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Feb. 16

Location: Sony Pictures Entertainment, The newly opened “Morita Building”, 3970 Overland Drive, Culver City, CA 90232

Registration deadline for this event is 2/15/2017! For registration and more information, click here
