One of my fondest memories when growing up in Germany is picking plums in my grandmother’s backyard, usually in the month of August.
While I did not enjoy the picking of the plums that much, I certainly enjoyed the taste of my first home-made plum cake.
There are many recipes for this treat but I still prefer the plum cake made with yeast dough and baked on a flat iron sheet.
