The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) was in the spotlight as Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Barack Obama officially opened the 2016 Hannover Messe this weekend. The US is the partner country of this year’s trade fair, a great honor and an even greater opportunity, as US businesses will have unprecedented access to international buyers and investors all week. President Obama is the first sitting president to ever attend the trade fair, and his visit symbolizes a more dedicated effort to increase transatlantic business ties.
