“German History: Enlightenment to Unification” Course at the DANK Haus

Join the DANK Haus as they survey the history of the German speaking peoples from the scientific revolution of the 17th century, through the Enlightenment of the 18th and up to the unification of Germany in 1871.

Meet the great German scientists, Leibniz and Kepler among others, whose discoveries helped lay the intellectual foundations of the Enlightenment.

They will also discuss the emancipation of the serfs and the Jews in the late 18th and 19th centuries, and what effect this would later have on urbanization, the industrial revolution as well as immigration to America.
